Hitting the antique mall on a Sunday

I've been to all the antique malls around my area, I got brave today... I let my son drive us out just north of Cresson, TX to a place called Grandma's Attic. I say that because it involves him driving at speeds of 65 mph..... but he did fine! Back to the mall, it was huge!!! I know they have around 100 booths maybe more.It was so cram packed full of wonderful! I had been looking for old metal cookie cutters, found them in Glen Rose but for $5 and $6 each or even higher. Here I got a bunch for only 90 cents each!!!! Yay I'll be making some ornaments with those. Such as these precious ones..

Around every corner I looked high and low. So much to see..some things priced sky high while others were more humble and offered a cheap gal like me a chance! Then I spot them laying a bowl under a table in one booth. I just couldn't believe my eyes! A bag full of glass knobs for $30!!!!!!! And 2 small bags with 6 and 9 white porcelain knobs for $3 and $4 ! I snatched those up so fast! 

Ended up there are 2 oval glass knobs and the rest are a rounded petal or a diamond point..best way I know how to describe them haha! I'm so thrilled and hope to use them on a future dresser project! My son came away with a Simon and Garfunkel album $5 along with a grey and black fedora hat $5. It turned out to be a great day. :)

Tricked out goody bags

 I'm slowly getting things together for the "Trick or Trunk" Halloween party my brother and sister-in-law are hosting. Its still a week away so the baking will have to wait but I got a head start on the goody bags. I caught a pic on pinterest and followed the link.. it ended up that someone was selling these cute bags with faces printed on them. I found slim tall pretzel bags at Wal-Mart on the Wiltons baking isle. (which happens to be in the craft department) They were only $1.50 each.

I took a black sharpie and went to town making my own silly faces.

Filled them up with some goody's and tied with ribbon.

No shipping and handling fees here! For photo purposes I used left over candy corn from when I made the krispy treats. The faces will show up better if you can find a solid colored candy. Using white candies you could make ghosts as well!

Antique Alley weekend wrap-up

What a weekend this has been! I introduced you to Antique Alley in a previous post an event that happens in our community twice a year. With over 15 miles of yard sales!! I scored some really neat things and can't wait to get to work revamping some of them! But first I have a few yummy pics to show you...

Bird cage $15 plan on painting this white and taking out everything thats in it.

Metal garden gate it has an "S" on it. I twisted hubby's arm to buy it with plans for something I don't know what but something for it! I got it half off because the seller was planning on leaving early $23!

Now to get busy! I have so neglected the house since Thursday too much housework to do! I'm torn between starting a project and cleaning!

Fall Decor

After seeing a tutorial on using pumpkins from Dollar Tree I had to do some! Then I found a bunch of smaller ones plus gourds at Dollar General, decided I'm doing them all! Thank you Artsy VaVa for tutorial and inspiration!

I also found these cute ladies 

Everything got painted white and a few pumpkins got plastered with Mod Podge and pages from an old book

I had found these do it yourself stamp sets at Walmart for 97 cents each.

You can combine stamps onto the clear square to make your own unique stamp.

They peel and stick and you can wash, remove, rearrange and reuse them!

Here is the finished look!

And this is how the ladies turned out, love how the words showed up.

The pumpkins and gourds I spiffed up are so cute!

I wrapped some old books and used my new stamps

So cute!
